Diwali is tomorrow .. Faral, akashkandil, pantya, new clothes.. all the things we associate with Diwali. I am thrilled that my children are also experiencing Diwali just like I did.

I remember the excitement of new clothes. Usually that we got twice in a year (birthday and diwali). The food mom made, (sometimes bought), dad getting this exotic dry-fruit boxes from suppliers. And fatake. Moti soap, utna..

Now, maybe my kids don't appreciate getting new clothes. They get these every few days. They don't appreciate dry-fruits, these are lying around in dabbas they can open and eat whenever they want.. Faral, maybe not so much, as I buy and keep a bunch of stuff regularly for school and afternoon snack.

And yet, today Avani asked her aaji. Is Diwali tomorrow..WOW?! She had a smile on her face as she walked away. Wonder when she is my age, what will her associations be with Diwali..
