Throw than mend

I recently read somewhere that "we come from a generation where you didn't throw things, you mend them".. But sometimes, if mending takes more efforts than buying a new one, doesn't it make sense to just throw away the broken.

We come from a generation of stressed, time-pressed people. Its a cut throat competition and if you want to get some sanity in your life, you have to let the small things not bother you. If that means, I throw something so I can buy something new, so be it. If that saves me a few minutes and gives me time to just sit back.
